Why did the namkeens we grew up eating change so much?
Growing up, namkeens came from local halwais — made fresh, fried in oils that belonged to the region, full of authenticity and taste. As snacks travelled farther, traditional methods changed and palm oil replaced authentic ingredients.
SpiceRaga was created to bring back authentic halwaivali namkeen. We use traditional recipes, halwai methods, and 100% groundnut oil — no palm oil, ever.
Founded by Mrs. Shilpa Gattani in 2024, SpiceRaga supports local halwais from our Rajasthan hometown and contributes to the Gift A Smile initiative.
